This page explains, in plain language, what information Restaurants Preference collects when you visit and how it is used.

The short version
We do not run advertising, comments are closed, and we do not run a newsletter. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which articles are read. Apart from that, the only information we receive is what any web server records and what you choose to send us by email.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. It sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) and collects information such as the pages you view, how you arrived at the site, your approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP address) and your device and browser type. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
We look at these reports only in aggregate, to decide what to write next. We do not use them for advertising, and we have not turned on Google signals or advertising features. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can block these cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our web server keeps standard access logs. These record your IP address, your browser and device type, the pages you request and the time of each request. We use these logs only for security and troubleshooting, for example to spot abuse or fix errors. We do not use them to build profiles of visitors, and we do not sell or share them for marketing.
Cookies
Apart from the Google Analytics cookies described above, we do not set cookies for visitors. WordPress, the software that runs this site, may set a cookie for logged-in administrators so they can manage the site; if you are only reading, you will not receive it.
Emails you send us
If you email us at [email protected], we use your email address and message only to reply to you and to deal with what you asked about. We keep correspondence for as long as it is useful for that purpose, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
Links to other websites
Our articles link to other websites, and some articles are contributed by third parties and may link to their sites (see our Disclosure page). Once you leave this site, the other website’s own privacy policy applies.
Your choices and questions
If you have a question about this policy, or want to ask about information we may hold about you, email [email protected] and we will reply.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
